Schengen Agreement

The Schengen Agreement is a treaty signed in 1985 which removed border controls between the Schengen Countries, thus allowing free movement of persons between the member countries.

Currently there are 25 countries which participate in this agreement. As such, when travelers enter a Schengen country, they may travel for up to 90 days between that country and other member countries and are not required to present a passport when crossing borders.
