Learn historic tales and engage in water fun at the Alton Towers

Families who book cheap flights to the UK can treat their kids to a day of adventure at the Alton Towers, the largest theme park in the country.

With a history that dates back to the 8th century, the Towers used to act as a fortress for royalty, later becoming a summer residence for the earl and his family. It was not until the early 1890s when the earl of Shrewsbury at the time, Charles Henry Talbot, began to develop the estate as a tourist attraction. Fireworks displays, exhibitions of torture instruments and balloon festivals were all present in the early days of the property.

Although parts of the attraction possess tales of the UK's ancient history, the resort's modern-day theme park and hotels are by no means outdated. Tourists who visit the Towers resort in early March can attend Ice Age Weekend, centered around the 20th Century Fox film, Ice Age. During the visit, guests can meet their favorite characters and even catch the beloved movie in the onsite cinema.

Admission to the Caribbean Lagoon Waterpark is also included in the March weekend package, along with access to lazy rivers, water cannons and the Master Blaster rollercoaster. Book cheap flights to London in early March to attend the weekend spectacle on March 2 and 3.
