Breedekloof Outdoor Festival
Breedekloof, Western Cape Town October 8 - October 10, 2010 The weekend-long Breedekloof Outdoor Festival takes place at wineries and cellars all around Breedekloof, in the Western Cape. It is full of fun activities which include quad-biking, stand up comedy, hot air ballooning, a tagged fishing contest and lots of live music. If you feel inclined you can also participate in the Deetlefs Night Run, which are 5km and 10km runs through the vineyards. Theres also a wide range of food to enjoy from oysters to a crocodile spitbraai (barbecue) while sampling the regions award-winning wines.
Ficksburg Cherry Festival
Ficksburg November 18 - November 20, 2010 Each year Ficksburg produces about 500 tons of cherries, which represents around 95% of the South African harvest. The Ficksburg Cherry Festival celebrates the towns favorite crop, with events like tasting, pickings and lots of family entertainment. You will also find horse shows, flower shows, a Mr Cherry Pip and Miss Cherry Blossom competition and a fun run. The festival ends with a carnival parade and a fireworks display.
OBZfestival
Observatory, Cape Town December, 2010 OBZfestival takes place in Observatory, Cape Town every year on the first week of December. This festival is celebrates the beginning of summer with a street festival that features music, film screenings arts & crafts and children's activities. The music is separated into their different sections by genres, you will find areas with live funk, soul, hip-hop, rock, ska, reggae and Afro pop performed by South Africas emerging urban bands. |
