Warsaw International Film Festival
Warsaw
October 8 - October 17, 2010

During the Warsaw International Film Festival over 200 films are shown at cinemas across the Polish capital. The program features movies from Poland, Chile, Taiwan and Bulgaria. The films are split into seven different sections, five of which are competitive. Winning filmmakers take home a cash prize of €5000 as well as the fame attached to placing first in the chosen section.

Piano Festival
Royal Castle, Warsaw

The Warsaw Piano Festival spans a total of five days with numerous recitals at both the Grand Hall of the Royal Palace and the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall. The Ludwig van Beethoven Foundation first held this event in 2003 in order to promote young pianists, Polish and foreign, as well as to present great piano virtuosos to the public. Performances are presented by young winners of many of the most important international piano competitions from around the world.
