The town of Sapporo is transformed into a winter wonderland with snow and ice sculptures lining the streets and parks. Millions of people will visit the streets to view these amazing pieces of art. The festival also features an opening and closing ceremony, a snowman building competition and plenty of street stalls selling everything from snow globes to hot and tasty snacks. Be sure to dress warm as it can get particularly cold in Sapporo in February.
