Copenhagen Fashion Week
Copenhagen February 9 - February 12, 2012 Copenhagen Fashion Week attracts thousands annually to celebrate modern designers and the radical outfits that they create. It is one of the largest fashion events held anywhere in Europe, and is always packed with leaders of the fashion industry.
Opera Festival
Aalborg March 4 - March 13, 2012 Denmark's sole opera festival is held in the scenic city of Aalborg each year. Visitors are encouraged to participate in the workshops held throughout the week. A must visit for opera fans.
Copenhagen Puppet Festival
Copenhagen March 20 - March 24, 2012 Each year Copenhagen celebrates the art of puppet making in this festival. The event includes puppet making workshops, performances and plenty of displays that you can look at and participate in. The festival is geared towards people of all ages which makes this a great event for the whole family.
CPH:PIX
Copenhagen April 14 - May 1, 2012 CPH:PIX, is the result of the 2008 merger of the Copenhagen International Film Festival and the NatFilm Festival to create an organisation called Copenhagen Film Festivals. The festival continues to draw more and more visitors each and every year. Filmmakers from all over the world premier movies here, as well as other screens in Aalborg, Odense and Arhus.
Queen Margrethe's Birthday
Copenhagen April 16, 2012 Each year the residents of Denmark gather in front of the balcony of the Royal Amalienborg Palace to celebrate the Queens birthday. Get there early to get a good spot to watch as Queen Margrethe II step on to the balcony and give a wave. Be sure to yell out Margrethe, Margrethe, kom nu frem, ellers gar vi aldrig hjem which means Margrethe, Margrethe, come on out, or we will never go home which usually entices the Queen and her royal family to appear a few times and wave.
European Beer Festival
Copenhagen, Denmark May, 2012 The European Beer Festival gives people a chance to see some of the old Carlsberg premises first hand. Old beer cellars and horse stables are opened to the public. Many beer-related events are hosted in venues across the Danish Capital. |
